Spencer Concrete, LLC guarantee of materials and workmanship.
We are a concrete company that cares about your concrete project... Our employees are trained to prepare, set up, place and finish concrete to the industry standards of concrete or better. We work hard to keep up to date on the latest products and techniques as well as working with our concrete suppliers/producers to provide you with the highest quality of materials.
Our workmanship and materials guarantee is also a guideline for our customers to manage expectations with concrete work.
We guarantee that we will use proper materials to complete the project. We will order materials and provide services that will match the application including; 4,000# concrete, #3 or larger rod rebar reinforcement or wire/fiber mesh (if required or requested), curing concrete sealer, and control joints.
We will provide overall average, industry standard or better quality workmanship including setup, pouring and finishing that will be done in a proper manner. We do not guarantee perfection since there are many natural elements and usually pre-existing site conditions that will affect the outcome of your project. We will do our best to provide overall quality workmanship on your project.
We will accomplish quality workmanship by:
We will not be responsible or held liable for; landscaping, subsoil, heaving, settling, peeling, scaling, popping, chipping, discoloration, cracking or imperfections due to shrinkage, salt, acts of nature, others excavation practices, weather conditions or others/owners neglect or unrealistic expectations. We cannot guarantee exact color or texture with concrete including; decorative concrete, stamped concrete, stained concrete, colored concrete and gray concrete. We will not be responsible for back filling or final landscaping, unless contracted.
Spencer Concrete strives to provide the best quality concrete construction, but sometimes mistakes do happen. If they do, we will do our best to come to a realistic agreement and make good on our word.
Common Questions:
Q. What if the concrete cracks?
A. Yes, concrete does crack. Think of control joints (saw cuts & joints) as "planned cracks" that allow concrete to expand and contract, minimizing the chance of random stray cracking. If your concrete was control jointed/saw cut properly, cracks are unlikely to be a problem, unless there are other unknown or unforeseen problems. We will do our best for you to minimize stray cracks.
Although saw cuts and joints will control stray cracking in most cases, there still is a possibility of a stray crack with your new concrete because of the extensive freezing and thawing we have here in Wisconsin. Control jointing in 10' sections is industry standards. Cracks that are 3/16" of inch or less (in height or gap) are considered normal within the industry standards. We do everything we can by saw cutting and jointing to control cracking but there is no guarantee that the concrete will not crack outside our control joints.
Q. What if the color or texture doesn't turn out as expected?
A. It is unrealistic to expect precisely matched texture or coloring of your concrete to a showroom sample, existing concrete, a neighbor's project, or a color example from a brochure. Texture can vary with timing, process and material. It should be expected for hand work to look different than tooled work. You should reasonably expect concrete coloring to be up to one shade different. Even gray concrete can exhibit color variations, especially if the project requires more than one load of concrete or if placement is done on different days. Most variations will fade with time.
Q. Do you fix damaged lawns or install final landscaping?
A. We can, if contracted. But this both are not included in our concrete contracts, unless stated. We try to avoid as much damage to your lawn as possible. If you are concerned, please ask us for a quote for final landscaping.
Q. Can customers withhold payments?
A. Payments to be made as follows: 50% to schedule project and balance due upon completion/final invoice.
If you have any questions about concrete, please contact us and we will try provide an answer!

- Pouring concrete with known and time tested techniques.
- Providing a common or discussed finish for the concrete application.
- Installing control joints (saw cuts, zip strip, joints) that will be 10' sections or under. *Industry standard. Not in basements.
